Bard Summerscape Announces 2025 Season

The Fisher Center at Bard has announced the SummerScape 2025 which will be held between June 27 – August 17, 2025.

Here is a look at the operatic and vocal performances for the season.

Opera

Smetana’s “Dalibor” will be performed in a new production by Jean-Romain Vesperini. The American Symphony Orchestra will be conducted by Leon Botstein and teh production will star Ladislav Elgr, Izabela Matula, Terrence Chin-Loy, Eric Greene, Erica Petrocelli, Alfred Walker, and Wei Wu.

Performance Dates: July 25-August 3, 2025

The 35th Bard Music Festival: Martinů and His World

Program Six will showcase Martinů’s “The Mount of Three Lights, H349” and “Vigilie, H382,” excerpts from Dvořák’s  Mass in D Major, Op. 86, Janáček’s “Veni Sancte Spiritus,” “Constitues eos principles,” “Ave Maria,” Postludium, from “Glagolitic Mass,” and Eben’s Finale, from “Musica dominicalis.”

Performance Date: August 14, 2025

Program seven includes Martinů’s “Mariken de Nimègue,” “Field Mass,” and “Brigand Songs.”

Performance Date: August 15, 2025

Program ten will showcase works by Martinů, Joan Tower, Kryštof Mařatka, Jaroslav Ježek, Frank Zappa, and Iva Bittová.

Performance Date: August 17, 2025

Martinů’s “Julietta,” one of the most overlooked works in the repertoire will be conducted by Leon Botstein.

Performance Date: August 17, 2025
