Sarasota Opera to Screen Winter Festival Operas at The Bay

Sarasota Opera will feature recorded performances of its three Winter Festival operas at The Bay Park.

“We are extremely excited to partner with The Bay to bring some of our world-class 2025 productions to the Sarasota community,” said Richard Russell, Sarasota Opera’s General Director, per an official press release. “This is an exceptional opportunity for us to share opera with a wider audience, in the beautiful and natural park setting. I hope new audiences and loyal patrons alike will come out to experience opera at The Bay.”

On April 27, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. local time, audiences will get to check out a recording of “Cavalleria Rusticana”  starring Lisa Chavez, Jean-Carlos Rodríguez, and Rafael Dávila. Victoria DeRenzi conducted the performances.

Then, on May 4, also a 1:30 p.m. start time, comes “Pagliacci” with Ashley Milanese, Jean-Carlos Rodríguez, and Rafael Dávila with DeRenzi conducting.

The final work in the screening series will be “The Barber of Seville.” This showcase is set for May 17 at 7 p.m. local time. The cast includes Filippo Fontana, Lisa Marie Rogali, Andrew Gilstrap, and Young Bok Kim, with the Sarasota Opera orchestra conducted by Marcello Cormio.
