Bampton Classical Opera is set to present Händel’s “Clori, Tirsi e Fileno” this fall.

There will be three performances in sum with the opening showcase set for Sept. 3, 2022 at the Old Walland in Wadhurst, Sussex. That will be followed up by a performance on Sept. 11, 2022 at Weald Manor in Bampton, Oxfordshire with the final showcase, scheduled for Sept. 24 at Summer at Breinton in Woking, Surrey.

Conductor Julian Perkins will lead the Bampton Classical players in the cantata, which will feature a cast of young singers including Samantha Louis-Jean as Clori, Caroline Taylor as Tirsi, and Emma Stannard as Fileno.

This cantata was composed in 1707 after the famed composer moved to Italy. It focuses on the nymph Clori who flirts with two shepherds, making promises, and breaking hearts along the way.

In addition to the Händel cantata, the company is also gearing up to present Haydn’s “Il Mondo della Luna” in July and August.
