Aspect Chamber Music Series to Showcase ‘Winterreise’

The Aspect Chamber Music Series is set to present Schubert’s “Winterreise” on Dec. 8, 2021.

The showcase, which will take place at the Bohemian National Hall in New York City, will feature baritone Tyler Duncan and pianist Erika Switzer. There will also be an illustrated talk by Christopher Gibbs.

Duncan has performed all around the world with appearances at the Met Opera, the Spoleto Festival, the Boston Early Music Festival, Pacific Opera Victoria, Opera Vancouver, and the Princeton Festival.

He has frequently performed alongside Switzer with the duo giving recitals in New York, Boston, Paris, and all around Canada, Germany, Sweden, and France among other countries. The have premiered works by such composers as Jocelyn Morlock, Jeffrey Ryan, and Andrew Staniland; their performance of Ryan’s “Everything Already Lost” was the first prize winner of the National Association of Teachers of Singing 2021 Art Song Composition Award.
