All Classical Radio President & CEO Comments on 2025 Budget Rescission Package
By Afton MarkaySuzanne Nance, President and CEO of All Classical Radio has issued a statement on the effects of the Budget Rescission Package.
The letter titled, “All Classical Radio | Budget Rescission Package: A tough moment for All Classical,” opens, “Congress officially passed a budget rescission package which included a catastrophic provision: the full elimination of federal funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB). This decision cancels $500,000 in critical annual support previously approved by Congress for All Classical Radio.
“This is not just a number,” Nance continues. “That funding sustains the music, voices, and stories you rely on every day. It helps us broadcast performances from local artists, bring music education to children, and keep classical music freely accessible to all, regardless of income, location, or background. The loss of this funding places everything we do at risk.”
She then shifts into a hopeful tone in which she calls readers into supporting the radio station via donation.
“Your financial investment today will help us bridge this devastating funding gap and continue serving our community with unmatched, locally produced programming,” she writes. “Your generosity has always been the heart of All Classical Radio. Now more than ever, your support is needed to keep that heart beating.”
Nance recently announced that she was stepping down from her position with the company and heading to take over Executive Director at Wexford Festival Opera.
