Aline Kutan Added to Montréal’s ‘Great Christmas Concert’ at Saint Joseph’s Oratory

By David Salazar

The Great Christmas Concert at Saint Joseph’s Oratory in Montréal has a cast change.

Per a press statement, soprano Aline Kutan is set to replace Marie-Josée Lord for the event. Lord is unable to fulfill her commitment due to an important personal event.

Kutan will join the Petits Chanteurs de Mont-Royal under the musical direction of Andrew Gray. The showcase will include traditional hymns, Christmas carols, and a Vivaldi concerto.

Kutan has performed with such organizations as the Rotterdam Philharmonic, the Teatro Colón de Buenos Aires (where she recently made her debut as the Queen of the Night in Mozart’s “Die Zauberflöte), the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, and the Opéra de Montréal.

The performance, which is set for Dec. 19, 2021, is being presented in collaboration with Clavecin en Concert.
