Malmö Opera has announced that Christina Hörnell will continue as CEO and Artistic Director for an additional four-years.

Hörnell’s current appointment is set to expire on Sept. 30, 2027 and the extension will keep her in the position through Sept. 30, 2031.

Hörnell was first named to the position in June 2023, taking over for acting CEO Bengt Hall.

“During the last term, Malmö Opera has developed very positively and is today more stable than ever, both artistically and financially,” said board chairman Per-Martin Svensson, per an official press release.
