OperaVision 2018 Live Stream: Don’t Miss Mariella Devia’s Final ‘Norma’

By David Salazar

Audiences can get a chance to see Mariella Devia as she says goodbye to the stage in a production of “Norma” at the Teatro la Fenice as the showcase will be carried by OperaVision.

The production will also star Luca Tittoto as Oroveso, Carmela Remigio as Adalgisa, and Stefan Pop as Pollione.

Devia has received strong reviews for her final staged opera, with OperaWire noting, “Although the voice showed a certain degree of inconsistency, she put in a wonderful performance, which was underpinned by her formidable technique.”

The stream kicks off at 7 p.m. local time on June 8, 2018 and will be available for repeat viewings on Opera Vision until Dec. 7, 2018.

The streaming service is free through OperaVision, which, per its official website, is a project “supported by the European Union’s Creative Europe program, OperaVision builds on the success of The Opera Platform, with more contributing opera companies from more countries, under the editorial supervision of Opera Europa, the European association of opera companies and festivals. OperaVision brings together 30 partners from 18 countries and invites you to travel and discover the diversity of opera from wherever you want, whenever you want.”

Next up on the slate of live streams will be “Les Contes d’Hoffmann.”
