By Afton Markay

The Zenith Opera Competition has opened applications for its 5th annual competition.

The international vocal competition takes place in three rounds. The first round is determined by a video submission. 25 singers will be selected to compete live via Zoom for the semi-finals. A total of eight singers will advance to the final rounds. Monetary prizes will be awarded to the top three finalists, and five $500 encouragement awards will go to the remaining finalists. Participants, including semi-finalists, will also be awarded career development opportunities. All applicants to the competition are offered a feedback session on their performance.

The deadline to enter the competition is April 20. The semi-final round is scheduled for May 3, and the final round will take place on May 25.

This year’s jury consists of leading casting directors and artist managers, such as Tibor Brouwer, Matthew Broom, Eline De Kat, Brian Speck, and David Lomeli, among others.

Zenith Opera Competition offers the opportunity to compete from anywhere in the world. There is no age restriction. Applications must include two videos and a CV. The singers are solely evaluated on their performance.
