Zachary James Leads Opera Saratoga’s 2021 Summer Festival

The Opera Saratoga has announced its return to the stage for the 60th Anniversary with a season of performances inspired by the iconic novel “Don Quixote” by Miguel de Cervantes. Here is the full slate.

Quixotic Opera” will spotlight Joel Balzun, Brad Bickhardt, Naomi Brigell, Lisa Buhelos, Lauren Cook, Blake Jennings, Marcus Lee, Titus Muzi, De’Ron McDaniel, Steven Ricks, Jouelle Roberson, Whitney Robinson, Aidan Smerud, Laura Soto-Bayomi, Jeremiah Tyson, and Brian Yeakley. Laurie Rogers conducts.

Performance dates: June 24 – 25, 2021

Mitch Leigh and Dale Wasserman’s musical “Man of la Mancha” will star bass Zachary James as Cervantes / Don Quixote, and soprano Kelly Glyptis as Aldonza. The cast also includes Brian Yeakley, Aidan Smerud, Steven Ricks, Lauren Cook, Whitney Robinson, Jeremiah Tyson, Brad Bickhardt, Joel Balzun, Titus Muzi, Jouelle Roberson, Laura Soto-Bayomi, Lisa Buhelos, Naomi Brigell, Blake Jennings, Marcus Lee, and De’Ron McDaniel. Laura Bergquist conducts the production by Lawrence Edelson.

Performance dates: July 8 – 10, 2021

The one-act comic serenata “Don Quichotte at Camacho’s Wedding” by Georg Philipp Telemann will showcase Titus Muzi and De’Ron McDaniel in the title role, Blake Jennings, Aidan Smerud, Laura Soto-Bayomi, Jouelle Roberson, Naomi Brigell, Whitney Robinson, Lisa Buhelos, Lauren Cook, Jeremiah Tyson, and Brad Bickhardt. Michelle Rofrano conducts the production by Rebecca Miller Kratzer.

Performance dates: July 14 – 18, 2021
