Felix Jarrar & Miguel Ángel Vásquez to Present ‘Prelude to Pride: A Queer Recital’

Set for May 31, 2024, at 9 West 8th Street in New York City, the program includes music by Iain Bell, Jarrar, and other works in English.
“There will be a few fun surprises to be heard and seen in this eclectic song cycle that reminds us of why Pride is something we celebrate and will end with a genre-bending medley of songs that represent all the colors of the pride flag. Come kick off Pride with us,” the press release states.
Vásquez appeared in the Grammy-nominated recording of “X: The Life and Times of Malcolm X” and the Off-Broadway premiere of “Watch Night.”
Jarrar has composed over 230 works, including 200 songs, 13 operas, two string quartets, two cantatas, and a symphony.
