Women of the World to Present Choral World Premiere by Errollyn Wallen on International Women’s Day 2025
By David SalazarWomen of the World (WOW) have announced the world premiere of a new choral piece by Errollyn Wallen.
The work in question will premiere on International Women’s Day 2025 at the Royal Albert Hall in London and will feature an intergenerational choir made up of 150 women, girls, and non-binary people aged eight to 80 from Mulberry School for Girls, St. Boniface School and, and the London based trans-inclusive women’s choir Lips.
“I am delighted to be part of WOW 15 and honored to be contributing a new work that celebrates WOW’s commitment to gender equity across the world,” Wallen said in an official press release. “I look forward to sharing a musical moment of powerful solidarity and energy with the audience in the astonishing Royal Albert Hall.”
Audiences will also experience the world premiere of a fanfare for Royal Albert Hall’s iconic pipe organ by Isobel Waller-Bridge, interpreted by Anna Lapwood.
Also at the event will be legendary activist Angela Davis, who will engage in conversation with Jude Kelly as her life and achievements are honored. There will also be a plethora of speakers, activists, and artists set to make appearances at the event.
The showcase kicks off at 7 p.m. local time with doors opening at 6:15 p.m.
