
Wolf Trap Opera Unveils Filene & Studio Artists for 2026 Summer Season

This year’s roster brings together 17 Filene Artists and 17 Studio Artists who will feature in fully-staged productions of Rossini’s “La Cenerentola” and Tchaikovsky’s “Eugene Onegin” at The Barns at Wolf Trap, as well as a one-night-only presentation of Puccini’s “Tosca” at The Filene Center on August 7.
The 2026 Filene Artists include sopranos Magdalena Kuźma, Tessa McQueen, and Angela Yam; mezzo-sopranos and contraltos Sophia Maekawa, Cecelia McKinley, Aubrey Odle, and Elissa Pfaender; tenors Angel Raii Gomez, Daniel O’Hearn, Wayd Odle, and Demetrious Sampson Jr.; and bass-baritones Jonathan Patton, Finn Sagal, Korin Thomas-Smith, Cumhur Görgün, Sergio Martinez, and Ziniyu Zhao.
Studio Artists include sopranos Maya Behiri, Ayanna Delk-Lewis, Calista Ro-Jei Smith, and Uma Singh; mezzo-sopranos Natalie Creel, Madison Kavanaugh, Antoinette Pompe van Meerdervoort, and Sydney Sorbet; tenors Jack Hicks, Xiaofeng Hou, and Rudy Polk; baritones John Arlievsky, Jack Burrows, and Søren Pedersen; and bass-baritones Christopher Gray and Michael Mensah.
Grammy Award-winning baritone and Wolf Trap Opera alumnus Will Liverman returns to the program as 2026 Filene Artist-in-Residence. A former Filene Artist from 2015–2016, Liverman has since performed at the Metropolitan Opera, English National Opera, Dutch National Opera, LA Opera, Santa Fe Opera, and Washington National Opera, among others. He will lead a public master class on May 31 and perform in the Salon Series on June 3. Alumnus Ryan McKinny returns this season to direct “Tosca.”
