Opera Colorado is set to present a 20th anniversary concert at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House.

The performance will be held on Feb. 27 and will feature GRAMMY Award-winning baritone Will Liverman with pianist Elizabeth G. Hill.

In a statement, Barbara Lynne Jamison, the Ellie Caulkins General Director & CEO said, “At this 20 year anniversary, we celebrate The Ellie for bringing us together in community and reminding us of the power of beauty. We’re thrilled to mark this milestone with such an accomplished artist and dynamic performer as Will Liverman,”

Opera Colorado, founded in 1983, has called the Ellie Caulkins Opera House home for two decades.

Guests can choose from several ways to experience the evening. The Grand Gala includes an exquisite dinner, special performances, an auction, prime concert seating, and a lively after-party.

The concert, beginning at 8:00 p.m., will open with a one-woman opera “At the Statue of Venus” performed by soprano Hallie Schmidt and pianist John Morefield. This short, one-act comedy by Jake Heggie and Terrence McNally was specifically commissioned to mark the opening of The Ellie 20 years ago. Will Liverman will then take the stage with pianist Elizabeth Hill to perform a diverse compilation of operatic arias, art songs, spirituals, and more.
