
Opera Colorado Announces 2026-27 Season

In a statement, Barbara Lynne Jamison, the Ellie Caulkins General Director & CEO said, At its heart, this season is about serving our community. Opera gives us a powerful way to spark joy, curiosity, and connection—one of the things I love most about it is how it brings people together. We’ve designed this season with an open door: we want you to feel welcome and capture your imagination.”
Opera
Verdi’s “Macbeth” will be the first opera of the season.
Performance Dates: Nov. 7-15, 2026
The second show of the season will be “The Snowy Day,” based on the Caldecott Medal-winning book by Ezra Jack Keats, with music by Joel Thompson and libretto by Andrea Davis Pinkney.
Performance Dates: Feb. 27-28, 2027.
The final opera will be “The School for Lovers (Così fan tutte),” composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart with libretto by Lorenzo Da Ponte
Performance Dates: May 1-9, 2027
Concerts
The first concert will be the Artist in Residence Showcase.
Performance Date: Sept. 26, 2026
The second concert will be the Artist in Residence Showcase.
Performance Date: Oct.. 4, 2026
The company will feature “Opera on Tour (Earth to Kenzie).”
Performance Date: Beginning Fall 2026
The annual Opera Colorado Gala will be held.
Performance Date: May 8, 2027
