Wiener Konzerthaus Announces Reopening Program

By Francisco Salazar

The Wiener Konzerthaus has announced its program for reopening starting on June 5.

The concerts will feature the Wiener Symphoniker conducted by Igor Levit, Julian Rachlin performing Beethoven’s Sonatas and Rudolf Buchbinder performing all five Beethoven Piano Concertos.

Each concert will be performed twice every evening so that as many people as possible can enjoy live music again.

The June concerts will only allow a maximum of 100 people at a time due to the federal government’s guidelines. In July, the concert hall will allow 250 audience members with a new summer program to be announced.

The Wiener Konzerthaus is the second concert hall to reopen in Vienna following the Musikverein’s announcement to perform throughout the month of June. The Salzburg Festival also announced it will showcase a modified edition.
