West End Lyric has announced its inaugural season.

The Boston-based company will kick off its season with “The Card Game / The Coffee Cantata,” a combined double bill of works by Caldara and Bach.

Performance Date: Nov. 17 & 19, 2023

Next up is “The Women of Tin-Pan-Alley,” a night of cabaret featuring sopranos Jessica Arielle  Bloch, Larisa Bainton, Akela Franklin, Julia Pottinger, and Hannah Shanefield.

Performance Date: Dec. 17, 2023

In 2024, the company will present “L’Amico Fritz.”

Performance Date: April 5, 2024

The season ends with a concert featuring works by Jake Heggie and Quinn Gutmann with such artists as Joel Clemens and Jessica Arielle. The work honors lives and stories impacted by the Holocaust and Jewish pogroms.

West End Lyric is a woman-run organization led by Creative Director Jessica Bloch-Moisand, Director of Development Larisa Bainton, Director of Marketing Hannah Shanefield, Director of Education Akela Franklin, and Production Manager Julia Pottinger.

“What started out as a variety of passion projects with friends transformed into West End Lyric’s inaugural season, featuring works old and new that point to what makes everyone human: light-hearted coffee dates with friends, discovering love in unexpected places, family matters… I want people to walk away from our season feeling lighter, more in touch with our universal humanity, and hopeful for all that unites us,” Bloch-Moisand told OperaWire.
