Vienna Opera Competition Announces 2025 Finalists

The Vienna Opera Competition has announced the finalists for its Inaugural 2025 Edition.

The competition, which will be held on August 5, 2025, will showcase eight finalists selected for its first international edition.

The finalists are Australian soprano Sophie Salvesani, South Korean tenor Ju Hyeok Lee, Tenor, US bass William Meinert, Ukrainian bass Roman Chabaranok, UK soprano Louisa Stirland, Turkish mezzo-soprano Dilan Şaka, US soprano Temple Hammen, and South Korean baritone Daniel Gwon.

The young artists from across the globe will perform at the Mozarthaus Vienna, and the final round will be open to the public and streamed worldwide, giving global audiences a front-row seat to hear the future of opera.

This year’s jury will include Michael Barobeck, Artistic Director of Graz Opera, Alexa Sowers, Former Music Director of the Houston Grand Opera, and Viktoria Loukianetz, Soprano – Vocal Teacher.
