Lirico Tullio Serafin Competition Announces Award Winners

The Lirico Tullio Serafin competition has announced the roles for Rossini’s “La Cenerentola.”

The opera, which will be performed at the Festival “Vicenza in Lirica” in September, will see Luis Magallanes as Don Ramiro, Eugenio Maria Degiacomi as Don Magnifico, Floriana Cicio as Clorinda, Caterina Dellaere as Tisbe, Tamar Ugrekhlidze as La Cenerentola, and Huigang Liu as Alidoro.

The parts were decided following the competition open to singers under 34.

The parts were selected by the jury which was headed by maestro Ernesto Palacio (Rossini Opera Festival), Maestro Daniele Borniquez (Teatro alla Scala di Milano), Maestro Carlo Donadio (Teatro dell’Opera di Roma), soprano Barbara Frittoli, mezzosoprano Renata Lamanda, Maestro Alessandro Vitiello, and Andrea Castello.

Meanwhile, the critics jury was made up by Silvia Campana, Maria Teresa Giovagnolli, Eva Purelli, Federica Fanizza, Alessandro Cammarano, and Davide Cornacchione. They handed out the “Premio della critica – Lukas Franceschini”  Luis Magallanes.

The Università Popolare di Cavarzere handed Magdalena Urbanowicz a scholarship while the “Premio del pubblico – Francesco Pacchiega” was awarded to Luis Magallanes. The “Marinella Meli” scholarship was awarded to Elisabetta Ricci, while the “Ariadimusica” award was awarded to Elisabetta Ricci and Silvia Porcellini. The “Camerata Musicale Città di Arco” was awarded to Caterina Dellaere.
