Vancouver Opera Announces 2024-25 Young Artists
By David SalazarVancouver Opera has announced its 2024-25 participants of the Yulanda M. Faris Young Artists Program.
The artists include newcomers tenor Lyndon Ladeur, stage director Tayte Mitchell, and pianist Derek Stanyer, as well as returning artists baritone Danlie Rae Acebuque, mezzo-soprano Simran Claire, and soprano Heidi Duncan.
“Our 2024-2025 participants are an exceptional group of artists who have already demonstrated their talents and are poised to become world-class opera professionals in the coming years,” said Tom Wright, Vancouver Opera General Director, per an official press release. “Participants in our Young Artists Program are provided with exciting live performance opportunities throughout our season whether it is for our community events or our large-scale productions. Members of our company provide these artists with advantageous insights into a career in opera.”
The Young Artists will take part in the mainstage production of “Die Fledermaus” in late October and will also receive one-on-one coaching, attend masterclasses, and get other performing opportunities.
