
Vancouver Opera Names Director of Development
By David SalazarVancouver Opera has named Suzanne Scott as its new Director of Development.
In the role, Scott, a classically trained soprano, will oversee the organization’s fundraising strategy, including individual giving, corporate partnerships, major gifts, and foundation support.
“I recognize the importance of supporting the arts community in our beautiful city,” said Scott, per an official press release. “I am delighted to merge two worlds I am deeply passionate about: the Arts and philanthropy and I’m inspired by our Vancouver Opera donors who support artistic excellence in Vancouver.”
In addition to her vocal career, Scott has over a decade of fundraising experience across healthcare and higher education in Vancouver and Singapore. She most recently served as Head of Development at Duke-National University of Singapore Medical School. Prior roles include Assistant Dean of Development and Alumni Engagement at UBC’s Faculty of Education and Manager of the Surgery and Imaging portfolio at St. Paul’s Foundation in Vancouver.
