Vancouver Opera has announced the return of “Taupe Tuesday” on Oct. 14, 2025.

By combining affordability with cultural engagement, the event offers opera lovers and newcomers a Canadian arts community’s equivalent of Black Friday. As part of the 2025–2026 season initiative, all Thursday performances will feature special “Taupe Tuesday” pricing, with tickets for select seating sections available at 50 percent off.

“Opera is sometimes misconstrued as inaccessible, whether artistically or in cost of entry,” said Tom Wright, General Director of Vancouver Opera, per an official press release. “We wanted to change that perception and create a program where anyone can attend an opera performance.”

Vancouver Opera’s season opens with “Rigoletto” and also features productions of “Così fan tutte” and “La Bohème.”
