Tullio Serafin Opera Competition ‘Barbiere di Siviglia’ Cast at Vicenza in Lirica Festival

The IX Tullio Serafin Opera Competition has concluded its final round at the Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza, selecting the cast for Rossini’s “Il Barbiere Di Siviglia” at the 14th edition of the “Vicenza in Lirica – Contesti” Festival.

The opera is set to be staged on Sept. 10, 12, and 13, 2026.

Soprano Camilla Carol Farias will sing Rosina, tenor Manuel Miro Caputo will sing Count Almaviva, baritone Sung Hwan Park will sing Figaro, Antonino Arcilesi will sing Don Basilio, Josipa Gvozdanic will sing Berta, and Davide Canepa will sing Don Bartolo. All soloists were accompanied at the piano by Marcos Madrigal.

The jury was chaired by Lucas Christ, Casting Manager of the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, and included Alessandro Di Gloria of the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome, Raffaella Murdolo of the Royal Opera House Muscat, Barbara Frittoli, Fabio Armiliato, conductor Marco Titotto, and composer Marco Tutino, among others.

Farias also received the Critics’ Jury Prize, awarded in the presence of the Università Popolare di Cavarzere, the birthplace of Tullio Serafin. The Audience Award went to baritone Eduard Ferenczi Gurban. The Daniela Dessì Award, established on the tenth anniversary of the soprano’s death, was jointly presented to sopranos Josipa Gvozdanic and Francesca Pusceddu.
