Toledo Opera to Host ‘OPERAtunity Day’

By David Salazar

Toledo Opera is set to host “OPERAtunity Day” on Nov. 21, 2024.

The evening will aim to raise $50,000 to help the company expand its education and outreach programs, touching operagoers of all ages across Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan.

The day will include a “Triviata Night” at Toledo Spirits Company starting at 6 p.m. featuring Toledo Opera General Director James M. Norman and Artistic Director Kevin Bylsma. The grand prize includes a walk-on role in the company’s upcoming production of “South Pacific.” Other winners will walk away with gift certificates.

“OPERAtunity Day is a celebration of the Toledo Opera’s commitment to our community, a day when we come together to support the transformative power of opera. Every gift, no matter the size, plays a role in bringing the beauty, passion, and artistry of opera to life for everyone in our region. Together, we’re building a future where the arts are accessible, inspiring, and enriching for all,” said Norman in an official press release.
