Florida Grand Opera is set to revive the Verdi and Piave’s masterwork “Rigoletto” this March, April, and May.

The company’s first slew of performances of “Rigoletto” are set for March 28-April 5 at the Arsht Center in Miami, with two additional showcases on April 30 and May 2, 2020 set for Fort Lauderdale’s Broward Center.

“Rigoletto” will feature Todd Thomas in the title role with Piotr Buszewski as the Duke of Mantua, in his Florida Grand Opera debut. Meanwhile, Jessica E. Jones will take on the role of Gilda and Raymond Aceto will make his company debut as Sparafucile. The opera will be conducted by Pacien Mazzagatti, while Kathellen Belcher will direct; both Mazzagatti and Belcher will be making their company debuts in this production.

“’Rigoletto’ is remarkable not only for the beauty and power of the music but also the vivid characterizations and compact dramatic pacing,” stated Susan T. Danis, General Director and CEO of Florida Grand Opera, in a press release. “It will be a riveting experience of opera, and we’re pleased to present our audience with grand opera at its finest.
