The Theater Essen has announced a cast change for its “Lucrezia Borgia” performance on Feb. 4, 2023.

The company said that Lidia Fridman will take over the title role making her house debut. She will replace Jessica Murihead, who opened teh production early this year.

Fridman recently made her house debut at the Deutsche Oper Berlin in “Don Giovanni.”  She has sung the role of “Lucrezia Borgia” at the MÜPA Festival in Budapest and at Teatro Verdi in Trieste. Her repertoire also includes Lady Macbeth in “Macbeth,” the title role of Norma, Mina in “Aroldo,” Sylvia de Linares in “L’Ange de Nisida,” and Dido in “Dido and Aeneas.”

She joins a cast that includes Almas Svilpa, Francesco Castoro, and Na’ama Goldman.
