The Santa Fe Opera & 95.5 KHMFM Classical Public Radio Announce First-Ever Partnership

The Santa Fe Opera and 95.5 KHFM Classical Public Radio have announced their first-ever partnership for the 2021-22 season.

The collaboration will feature broadcasts of several operas from Santa Fe Opera’s 2021 festival.

First up will be “The Marriage of Figaro” on August 2, 2021. The broadcast kicks off at 6 p.m. MDT. The opera stars Nicholas Brownlee, Vanessa Vasquez, Ying Fang, and Megan Marino, among others.

It will be followed by the world premiere of “The Lord of Cries” on August 9, 2021 at 6 p.m. MDT. The John Corigliano / Mark Adamo opera stars Anthony Roth Costanzo, Susanna Phillipps, and David Portillo, among others.

“Eugene Onegin” will be the third broadcast, kicking off at 6 p.m. MDT on August 16, 2021. Avery Amereau, Deborah Nansteel, Lucas Meachem, and Sara Jakubiak headline the cast.

The final broadcast under this partnership will be for Britten’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” which is set for August 23, 2021 at 6 p.m. MDT. Erin Morley, Iestyn Davies, Matthew Grills, Kevin Burdette, and Adanya Dunn headline the cast.

All broadcasts will be hosted by soprano and KHFM host Kathlene Ritch alongside tenor and Santa Fe Opera Chief Artistic Officer David Lomelí.
