‘The Higgler’ to Make its World Premiere

The two-act chamber opera “The Higgler” by Margi Griebling-Haighis is set to make its world premiere this June.

The opera will be presented between June 7 and 8 at Disciples Christian Church in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, and will feature Music Director Steven Smith leading a chamber orchestra of prominent Cleveland area musicians.

Marla Berg will direct a cast that includes Brian Skoog, Gabrielle Haigh, Elizabeth Frey, Denise Milner Howell, Lisl Wangerman, Joseph Hollings, Koen Antal and Ava Kimble.

The work is based on a short story (early 20th C. British) by A. E. Coppard.

Griebling-Haigh is an American classical composer with large and varied works list, many important commissions, publications, recordings, and reviews.
