The American Opera Project will present its concert titled “The AOP Mixtape #1 No More!” on April 14, 2022.

The event will take place at Joe’s Pub at 7 p.m. This concert will be the first in the company’s new annual series.

This unique program is described as “a live, handwritten love letter of music featuring world premiere songs from contemporary operas and music theater.” Selections to be featured at the concert are works by many living composers such Clint Borzoni, John de los Santos, Rima Fand, Karen Fisher, and more. There will also be excerpts from the new opera “Eat the Document” by John Glover & Kelley Rourke.

The singers to be featured are Justine Aronson, Gelsey Bell, Aaron Casey, Stephanie Chou, Angel Desai, Andrea Jones-Sojola, Amy Justman, Caitlin McKechney, David Merino, Kyle Pfortmiller, Paul Pinto, Daisy Press, Tim Russell, Alice Tolan-Mee, and Jonathan Woody. Mila Henry will accompany at the piano, alongside violist Jessica Meyer and cellist Andrew Yee. John C. Hume will host the event.
