MassOpera to Bring Back ‘The Mirror Cabaret’
By David SalazarMassOpera heads to City Winery on May 10 to present “The Mirror Cabaret.”
The showcase will feature a showdown between opera classics and their musical theater counterparts. To that effect, audiences will hear back-to-back showcases from such works as “Aida” (and “Aida”); “Rusalka” and “The Little Mermaid;” “Madama Butterfly” and “Miss Saigon;” “Little Women” and “Little Women;” “Cendrillon” and “Into the Woods;” and “Eurydice” and “Hadestown.”
The program will be directed by Cassandra Lovering and conducted by Brendon Shapiro. Performers include Nina Evelyn, Maggie Finnegan, Lovely Hoffman, Wen Gu, Jamie Korkos, Emily Michiko Jensen, Brittany Rolfs, and Kayla Shimizu.
The program kicks off at 7:30 p.m. The event features a full dinner and show experience.
The company previously presented its first iteration of this program back in 2022.
