Tesserae Baroque Ensemble will take the stage at Sierra Madre Playhouse in California to present a special concert celebrating Italian music from the 16th century.

Set for Dec. 7, 2024, the showcase will feature music performed at Duke of Ferrara’s “musica secreta,” a series of private concerts at the court.

The soloists on this occasion include sopranos Anna Schuber and Addy Sterrett and baritone John Buffet. They are joined by curator and harpsichordist Ian Pritchard.

The showcase kicks off at 7:30 p.m. local time.

The Tesserae Baroque Ensemble is an LA-based period instrument ensemble specializing in historically-informed performances of music from the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries. The ensemble was formed in 2010 and explores some of the most beautiful repertoire of the Renaissance and Baroque, from intimate chamber music to large-scale orchestral works.
