Teatro la Fenice Remains Closed due to Coronavirus

The Teatro la Fenice has announced that it will remain closed to the public due to the coronavirus.

The company announced that “La Fenice is closed to the public tomorrow Monday March 2, 2020. The Chamber Music Concert of the Quartetto Dafne will be broadcast live on La Fenice Opera House You Tube Channel from 6pm. We will bring you more as the situation develops.”

The theater also announced that all performances will be canceled until March 8.

La Fenice is currently performing recitals and concerts and is not scheduled to perform an opera production until “Pinocchio,” which opens on March 11.

The Teatro la Fenice closed its doors last week due to the outbreak of the coronavirus and is the second theater in Northern Italy to extend its closure.

According to reports the number of coronavirus cases in Italy escalated to 1,694, with 34 deaths so far.
