Teatro de la Zarzuela Postpones Franz-Josef Selig’s Recital

The Teatro de la Zarzuela has postponed Franz-Josef Selig’s recital.

The company said that “due to acute bronchitis, bass Franz-Josef Selig has been forced to postpone his next recital Monday, Jan. 20 at the Teatro de la Zarzuela within the XXXI Lied Cycle to Monday, June 16 in the same place and at the same time. The same tickets will be valid.”

Selig is internationally recognized as one of the most important singers of serious bass roles such as Gurnemanz, King Marke, Sarastro, Rocco, Osmin, Daland, Fiesco, and Fasolt. He has performed at all major opera houses worldwide, including the Bavarian State Opera, the Vienna State Opera, La Scala in Milan, Teatro Real Madrid, the Paris Opera houses, and the Metropolitan Opera in New York.
