The Teatro de la Zarzuela has announced its 2024-25 season.

Zarzuela 

Emilio Arrieta’s “Marina” will be conducted by José Miguel Pérez-Sierra and directed by Bárbara Lluch. Sabina Puértolas and Marina Monzó lead the opera alongside Ismael Jordi, Celso Albelo, Juan Jesús Rodríguez, Pietro Spagnoli, Rubén Amoretti, and Javier Castañeda.

Performance Dates: Oct. 9-20, 2024

Pablo Sorozábal’s “La Del Manojo de Rosas” will be conducted by Alondra de la Parra and will star Vanessa Goikoetxea, Beatriz Díaz, Manel Esteve, David Menéndez, Gerardo López, Jesús Álvarez Carrión, Néstor Galván, Nuria García Arrés, Rocío Faus, Ángel Ruiz, Daniel Enrique Baquerizo, and Milagros Martín. Emilio Sagi directs.

Emilio Sagi directs Vicente Lleó’s “La Corte de Faraon” with Carlos Aragón conducting. The cast will include María Rey-Joly, Itxaro Mentxaca, Enrique Viana, Annya Pinto, Amparo Navarro, Amelia Font, Leticia Rodríguez, Luis Cansino, Enric Martínez-Castignani, Jorge Rodríguez-Norton, Ramiro Maturana, José Manuel Díaz, Jesús García Gallera, and Rafael S. Lobeto.

Performance Dates: Jan. 29-Feb. 16, 2025

Federico Chueca’s “El Bateo” and Ruperto Chapí’s “La Revoltosa” will be conducted by Óliver Díaz and Lara Diloy. Chueca’s work will star Gerardo Bullón, Javier Franco, José Manuel Zapata, María Rodríguez, Milagros Martín, José Julián Frontal, Lara Chaves, Alberto Frías, and Julen Alba. Meanwhile, Chapí’s will star Berna Perles, Sofía Esparza, Gerardo Bullón, Javier Franco, Lara Chaves, Milagros Martín, Ricardo Muñiz, María Rodríguez, José Manuel Zapata, José Julián Frontal, Alberto Frías, and Sergio Dorado. Juan Echanove directs.

Performance Dates: April 9-27, 2025

Leonor Bonilla, Serena Sáenz, Ángel Ódena, César San Martín, Marcelo Puente, Celso Albelo, Rubén Amoretti, and Simón Orfila star in Pablo Sorozábal’s “La Tabernera del Puerto.” The cast is rounded out by Ruth González, Vicky Peña, Pep Molina, Ángel Ruiz, and Abel García. José Miguel Pérez-Sierra and Julio César Picos conduct the production by Mario Gas.

João Guilherme Ripper’s “Domitila” will be conducted by Borja Mariño and will be directed by Nicola Beller Carbone. Ana Quintans, Borja Mariño, Irene Martínez, and Ángela Rubio star.

Evelyn Ramírez, Marcela González, Nicolás Fontecilla, Sergio Gallardo, María Paz Grandjean, Francisco Arrázola, and Manuel Páez star in Sebastián Errázuriz’s “Patagonia.” Sebastián Errázuriz conducts the production by Marcelo Lombardero.
