The Teatro alla Scala has announced a date change for its production of Verdi’s “Macbeth.”

The company noted that due to a national strike slated for Dec. 16, the performance on the 16th of December will be moved up a day to the 15th.

All ticket holders will be transferred to the new date and will be contacted by email.

“Macbeth” opened the 2021-22 season in a new production by Davide Livermore. Luca Salsi, Anna Netrebko, Francesco Meli, and Ildar Abdrazakov are currently starring with Riccardo Chailly conducting. The opening night was streamed live on Rai and broadcast to cinemas.
