By Francisco Salazar

On May 2, 3, and 5, Stone Brewing-Berlin turns again into the capital’s fifth opera house as it presents Puccini’s”Madama Butterfly.”

Directed by  Teresa Reiber, the opera will be showcased against the backdrop of the steel brewing kettles of the world-class destination restaurant Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens, Berlin.

The work is set to star an international cast from five different continents, including Mari Moriya, Timothy Richards, Zak Kariithi, Monika Kertesz, Wagner Moreira, Andrew Munn, Davia Bouley, Samantha Britt, and Lawrence Halksworth.

“The sonority, the catchy melodies and the exotic touch of ‘Madama Butterfly’ thrill us, let us hope and cry,” Director Reiber noted in a press release. “An almost addictive musical intensity, which can only be experienced in the opera and which demands a special place. We found this at Stone Brewing – Berlin. Here we can use the great atmospheric space but also create intimate touching moments.”

The Stone Brewing opera experience was founded in 2018 by Co-Founder and Executive Chairman Greg Koch and Andrew Dickinson, a British tenor who is an ensemble member of Deutsche Oper.

Performances on May 2 and 3 start at 8 p.m. while on May 5, the performance will begin at 6 p.m.
