
STAGE+ Celebrates World Opera Day with New Android App
By Afton MarkayIn celebration of World Opera Day, Deutsche Grammophon has announced that its streaming service STAGE+ is now available for Android users.
On World Opera Day (Oct. 25), subscribers are invited to engage with “STAGE+ celebrates World Opera Day.” On this day, streaming events offered free of charge include Pretty Yende and Nadine Sierra in Concert from the Philharmonie de Paris, Donizetti’s “L’elisir d’amore” from the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, with Nadine Sierra and Bryn Terfel, and Mozart’s “Le nozze di Figaro” from the Wiener Staatsoper staring Andrè Schuen. There will also be a specially curated selection of performances featured with Emily D’Angelo, Cecilia Bartoli, Benjamin Bernheim, and more.
Four more operas from New York will appear on STAGE+ between now and early March 2026, as part of the platform’s new partnership with the Metropolitan Opera. The lineup is Verdi’s “La traviata,” with Nadine Sierra and Stephen Costello, Massenet’s “Cinderella,” with Isabel Leonard and Emily D’Angelo, Puccini’s “La rondine,” staring Angel Blue and Jonathan Tetelman, and finally Donizetti’s “Lucia di Lammermoor,” led by Nadine Sierra and Javier Camarena.
STAGE+ offers over 50 livestreams per year of performances from the world’s leading concert halls and opera houses. Every week, more audio and video releases are added to the platform’s archive, which now hosts over 1500 VODs, (concerts, operas and documentaries) and over 7000 DG, Decca, ECM, Hyperion, Carus, CAvi and Myrios audio albums. All content can be downloaded for offline listening and viewing.
The STAGE+ app is now available on Android Mobile, Google Play, Samsung Galaxy Stores, and other major platforms.
