
Soprano Ilanah Lobel-Torres Joins Roster of Promethean Artists
By David SalazarSoprano Ilanah Lobel-Torres has joined the roster of Promethean Artists for worldwide general management.
A native of Brooklyn, New York, Lobel-Torres is a member of the Troupe Lyrique of the Opéra National de Paris, with whom she has appeared as Susanna in “Le Nozze di Figaro” and will perform as the soprano role in Philip Glass’ “Satyagraha” and Waldvogel in Calixto Bieito’s new production of “Siegfried.”
Other roles at the Opéra National de Paris include Zerlina in Barrie Kosky’s production of “Les Brigands,” Papagena in Robert Carsen’s “Die Zauberflöte,” and Un Amante in “Il Tabarro” and Suor Osmina in “Suor Angelica” as part of Christof Loy’s staging of “Il Trittico.” She has stepped into the role of Beatriz in Thomas Adès’s “The Exterminating Angel” on less than 24 hours’ notice.
“Ilanah’s artistic style and vocal talents were evident from our first meeting,” said Promethean Artists President and Founder Adam Cavagnaro, per an official press release. “It’s a joy to work with an artist who is so poised and driven. I expect wonderful things from this collaboration in the coming years.”
