Soprano Elizabeth Marlow Wins Top Voice Prize at Young Texas Artists Competition

Soprano Elizabeth Marlow has been named the winner of the top prize for the Voice division at the Young Texas Artists Competition. She walked away with a $5,000 cash prize.

The three-day competition featured 72 contestants across several divisions.

“It meant so much to be able to create a special night for our supporters, an integral part of YTA’s 40-year legacy, and to see them enjoying our young artists’ performances,” said Susie Moore Pokorski, president and CEO of Young Texas Artists, per an official press release. “One thing that has held true at every single YTA finalists’ concert over the years is the stunning talent of our competitors and the sense that great things lie ahead for these artists.”

Other winners include violinist Fiona Shea who took home the Grand Prize, the Gold Medal, and the Auience Choice Award.

The Competition’s major YTA’s donors are Dr. Douglas and Carol Aycock, two anonymous donors, City of Conroe Arts & Culture, Annette and Ken Hallock, Jamie and Rick Hamm, Rea Charitable Trust, Texas Commission on the Arts and Sue and Joe Warren.
