The Young Texas Artists Music Competition Finalists Concert & Awards are set for March 9, 2024 at 7:30 p.m.

“It’s interesting, during YTA’s annual gala — just before the concert — there’s a friendly, playful atmosphere. But during the concert, there’s a much different feel: People are moved,” said Susie Moore Pokorski, President/CEO of YTA, in an official press statement. “Audience members are stunned by the tremendous talent of our contestants and the power of their performances, and they respond with great enthusiasm and admiration for these young artists.”

Preliminary rounds will take place throughout the week with the vocal division set for March 8 from 1 – 5 p.m. local time. Two finalists from all categories will perform in the March 9 showcase with gold and silver medals awarded in each category. There will also be a Grand Prize and Audience Choir Award.

The Competition is open to classical artists ages 18-30 who are Texas residents or affiliated with a Texas music school.

Judges for the competition include pianist Miyoko Lotto, flutist Brian Luce, North Carolina Opera general director Eric Mitchko, and conductor David Torns.
