Sonya Yoncheva’s Metropolitan Opera Live Concert Rescheduled

By Francisco Salazar

Sonya Yoncheva has postponed the Metropolitan Opera’s live series concert.

In a press release the Met said, “the ‘Met Stars Live in Concert’ performance featuring soprano Sonya Yoncheva, scheduled for this Saturday, November 21, has been rescheduled for Saturday, November 28, as Ms. Yoncheva is ill (with a non-Covid illness). The concert, live from the Schussenried Cloister in southwest Germany, will take place at 1pm EST/7pm CET.”

For the new date, Yoncheva will perform a program that will feature popular arias by Verdi, Puccini, Dvorak, Handel, Bizet, Purcell, and Bellini. The diva will be accompanied by Malcolm Martineau on the piano.

The recital will be streamed live via the Met website and will then be available on-demand for 14 days.
