The Opéra Royal du Château de Versailles has announced its 2026-27 season.

Opera

Salieri’s “Tarare” is set to star Reinoud Van Mechelen, Éléonore Pancrazi, Jean-François Lapointe, Gwendoline Blondeel, Enguerrand de Hys, Alexandre Adra, Jean-Gabriel Saint-Martin, Alexandre Baldo, Clara Penalva, and Isaure Brunner. Théotime Langlois de Swarte conducts the production by Jean-Romain Vesperini.

Performance Dates: Oct. 10-18, 2026


Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” will star Anas Séguin, Floriane Hasler, Vannina Santoni, Jean-Gabriel Saint-Martin, Alexandre Baldo, Enguerrand de Hys, Éléonore Pancrazi, and Nicolas Certenais. Gaétan Jarry conducts the revival.

Performance Dates: Nov. 7-15, 2026


Nicolò Balducci, Juliette Mey, Krystian Adam, Valentino Buzza, Théo Imart, and Fanny Valentin star in Zingarelli’s “Roméo et Juliette.” Stefan Plewniak conducts.

Donizetti’s “La Fille du régiment” will star Catherine Trottmann, Patrick Kabongo, Marc Scoffoni, Héloïse Mas, Jean-Gabriel Saint-Martin, Emmanuelle Jakubek, Baptiste Bonfante, and Jérémie Delvert. Gaétan Jarry conducts.

Performance Dates: Dec. 27, 2026-Jan. 3, 2027


Campra’s “Le Carnaval de Venise” will star Anas Séguin, Mathilde Ortscheidt, Tamara Bounazou, David Tricou, Guilhem Worms, Mathieu Gourlet, Apolline Raï-Westphal, Clarisse Dalles*, Louise Bourgeat, Laura Jarrell, Paco Garcia, Jordan Mouaissia, and Léo Guillou-Keredan. Ensemble Il Caravaggio will be conducted by Camille Delaforge.

Performance Dates: Jan. 16 & 17, 2027


Jean-Romain Vesperini directs a double bill of Rameau’s “Pygmalion” and Gluck’s “Le Cadi dupé.” The production will star Alexandre Adra, Sarah Charles, Mathias Vidal, Timothée Varon, Camille Brault, and Clara Penalva. Gaétan Jarry conducts.

Rossini’s “Le Barbier de Séville” will star Catherine Trottmann, Florian Sempey, Patrick Kabongo, Jean-Gabriel Saint-Martin, Alexandre Adra, Thierry Cartier, and Fanny Valentin. The new production by Cécile Roussat and Julien Lubek will be conducted by Victor Jacob.

Performance Dates: March 13-21, 2027


Grétry’s “La Caravane du Caire” will showcase Gwendoline Blondeel, Jean-Gabriel Saint-Martin, Marie Perbost, Pierre Derhet, Enguerrand de Hys, Anas Séguin, Lili Aymonino, Fanny Valentin, Laura Jarrell, and Samuel Guibal. Le Concert Spirituel Chœur et Orchestre will be conducted by Hervé Niquet.

Soloists of the Napa Valley Festival will showcase Heggie and Scheer’s “Le Jugement de Paris” under Kent Nagano. Jean-Romain Vesperini conducts.

“Molière et Lully : les comédies-ballets” will feature the soloists from l’Académie de l’Opéra Royal under Chloé de Guillebon.

Monteverdi’s “Le Couronnement de Poppée” will star Perrine Madoeuf, Maximiliano Danta, William Shelton, Victoire Bunel, Adrien Mathonat, Marie Perbost, Emiliano González Toro, Juan Sancho, Éléonore Pancrazi, Roberto Covatta, Pierre-Emmanuel Roubet, Thaïs Raï-Westphal, Fulvio Bettini, and Cécile Piovan. The Ensemble I Gemelli will be conducted by Emiliano González Toro and Mathilde Étienne.

Hasse’s “Marc-Antoine et Cléopâtre” will star Théo Imart and Catherine Trottmann with Andrés Gabetta conducting.
