Pasadena Chorale to Present Vaughan Williams’ ‘A Sea Symphony’
By David SalazarThe Pasadena Chorale will present Ralph Vaughan Williams’ “A Sea Symphony” on Wednesday, May 13 at the First United Methodist Church in Pasadena.
The performance will feature all 80 singers of the award-winning ensemble, accompanied by pianist Tali Tadmor.
“’A Sea Symphony’ is a tour de force for choir,” said Artistic Director Jeffrey Bernstein, per an official press release. “From the first explosive entrance of the choir Vaughan Williams captures the energy of the sea in all its moods. The astonishing poetry by Walt Whitman inspires with its inclusive and futuristic view of humanity.”
The concert, set for 7:30 p.m. local time, is free and open to the public. Following the performance, the Chorale will host the final post-concert gathering of its 2025-2026 season at Pasadena’s AC Hotel, where they can mingle with Bernstein, the evening’s soloists, musicians, singers, and board members.
Founded in 2009, the Pasadena Chorale has established itself as one of the region’s most celebrated choral organizations, winning the prestigious American Prize in Choral Performance in 2024. The ensemble made national headlines in 2025 when it appeared on Good Morning America and performed alongside Katy Perry at the FireAid Benefit Concert.
