Sidney Outlaw to Perform in MidAmerica Productions’ 2026 Concert Season

MidAmerica Productions announces its 2026 concert season at Carnegie Hall.

Katerina Burton and Robert Hughes solo in works by Hailstork, Dett, Brahms, Mendelssohn, Hagenberg and Gjeilo, with the New England Symphonic Ensemble. Emilie Bertram, Jason Forte, Charlotte Botha, Sinhaeng Lee, Kyle Zeuch, and Wade Holzapfel conduct participating choirs.

Barbee Monk serves as soloists in an evening in contemporary and classic choral music with participating choirs and the New England Symphonic Ensemble. Matthew Chi Lee, Regina McElroy, Nathan Payant, Jason Strunk, and Steven Zopfi conducts.

Jonathan Souza leads soloists Sarah Schroeder, Erin Alford, Edmond Rodriguez, Phillip Lopez, and the New England Symphonic Ensemble in Rutter’s “Gloria” and Vaughan Williams’s “Serenade to Music.”

MidAmerica Productions presents an Easter afternoon pageant featuring the Crystal Children’s Chorus performing choral works by Rutter, Whitacre, Chilcott, Cao, Chou, and more led by Maestro Karl Chang.

Maggie Finnegan, Martina Portychova, Brian Wallin, and Yazid Gray with the New England Symphonic Ensemble perform an second Easter program. Terrance Cook-Green, Bradley D. Vogel, Daniel Gordon, and KuanFen Liu conduct.

Melanie Soule conducts the New England Symphonic Ensemble and choir in Gjeilo’s “Dreamweaver,” and Nathaniel Voelker leads the ensemble in Mozart’s “Requiem” in D Minor, K. 626. Soloists are Sarah Joyce Cooper, Teresa Castillo, Leah Edwards-Pittas, Meg Brilleslyper, Nathan Snyder, Dimitri Pittas, and Sidney Outlaw.

Cristina Maria Castro, Olga Perez Flora, Ethan Ellis, and Andrew Dwan solo in works by Mozart, Hayden, and Forrest. They are joined by the New England Symphonic Ensemble and choir. Conductors include Daniel Dunning, Will Chandler, Athena Mertes, and Patrick Bradley.

The New England Symphonic Ensemble and choir give a Memorial Day program featuring world premieres by Patti Drennan, Sherry Blevins and Raphael Fusco, and Richard Nichols, along with works by Brahms, and Derksen and Balfour. Conductors include Joshua Chism, Bobby G. Helms, Richard Nichols, Victoria Gau, and Kathleen Allan.

Sir John Rutter returns to the podium for his 150th appearance with MidAmerica Productions, conducting his own “Requiem” and the Carnegie Hall premiere of “I’ll Make Me a World.” Marc-André Bougie leads the Carnegie Hall premiere of his “Stabat Mater.” The concert concludes with the world premiere of “Te Deum” by Terre Johnson, conducted by the composer.

The New England Symphonic Ensemble and choir present a program of choral works by Michael J. Glasgow. Vivaldi, Elaine Hagenberg, and Schubert. Conductors include Yelitza Greene, Jay Dunn, Scott L. Martin, Jed H. Ragsdale, and Michael J. Glasgow.

Matthew Abernathy, the Grand Winner of the inaugural MidAmerica Productions International Choral Conducting Competition, conducts the New England Symphonic Ensemble and choir in Poulenc’s “Gloria.” The concert also features works by Adolphus Hailstork and Jake Runestad, alongside world premieres by Khris Dodge and Kendrick Tri Huynh, led by Damon Dandridge, Terrie Ashbaugh, Jennifer Garrett, and Sean Hale.

The New England Symphonic Ensemble and choir presents a varied choral program spanning American popular song, contemporary works, and global choral traditions. Yvette Burdick is among guest conductors.

The concert season concludes with Fauré’s “Requiem,” conducted by Michael Shirtz, and Dan Forrest’s “Requiem for the Living,” led by Carol Earnhardt. The New England Symphonic Ensemble and choir also performs perform “The Poetry of Psalms” by Taylor Scott Davis (New York Premiere), conducted by the composer, and Mozart’s “Missa Brevis” in F Major, conducted by Mike Ware.
