Seattle Opera Extends Free Tickets To Furloughed Federal Workers

By Francisco Salazar

The Seattle Opera has extended its offer to give furloughed federal workers free tickets.

In a press statement, “due to the interest in this offer from furloughed federal workers, Seattle Opera is pleased to extend this to our final two performances of ‘Il Trovatore’ this weekend. Furloughed federal workers can receive two free tickets to the company’s final two performances of ‘Il Trovatore’ at 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 25 or 26. To redeem, simply present your federal government ID at the McCaw Hall box office before the performance. The box office opens two hours prior to performances at 5:30 p.m.”

General Director Aidan Lang said in another press statement, “We at Seattle Opera are grateful for all that our federal workers do, and wish to show our solidarity and thanks by inviting them to enjoy a night of beautiful music at McCaw Hall.”

The Seattle Opera began giving free tickets to furloughed federal workers last week in response to the government shutdown.
