Saskatoon Opera has announced the departure of Artistic Director Barbara Montalbetti, as well as Executive Director Karen Reynaud. Both women have played integral roles with the company for about 20 years.

Spencer McKnight will assume the position of interim Executive Director while the company’s Association Board of Directors searches for a new one. Saskatoon Opera thanks both women for the many years they have given the company.

“I look back with pride at the body of work we have achieved in the nearly 21 years I have been Saskatoon’s Artistic Director,” writes Montalbetti in a press release. “Saskatoon Opera is a respected regional company and a valued member of the Canadian Opera sector. I am also very grateful for the incredible artistic opportunities Saskatoon Opera gave me personally during my tenure with the company.”
