Saint Thomas Church Announces Holiday 2023 Slate

Saint Thomas Church announced its holiday concerts.

First up is Händel’s “Messiah” The performance will feature the Saint Thomas Choir of Men and Boys as well as New York Baroque Incorporated.

Performance Dates: Dec. 5 & 7, 2023

Next up is “Christmas on Fifth Avenue.” The Music Advancement Program String Ensemble of The Juilliard School will join the Boys of the Saint Thomas Choir in the performance. Audiences will hear music by John Rutter, Bruce Neswick, Edward Bairstow, Telemann, Elgar, Villa-Lobos, and Britten, among others.

“We are so pleased to present a new collaboration this year between the choristers of Saint Thomas Choir and the Juilliard Music Advancement Program String Ensemble – perhaps two premier artistic organizations within this great city,” said Director of Music Jeremy Filsell in an official press statement issued by the organization. “’Christmas on Fifth’ is always a concert which reflects the magic that is Christmas in New York, and this year we offer serene music of the 9th century through to charming modern-day Christmas fare of much-loved figures John Rutter and Bob Chilcott.”
