
Ryan Speedo Green, Kelli O’Hara Among Headliners of PBS’ ‘America Made in Virginia: 250 Years Together’
By David SalazarPBS will broadcast “America Made in Virginia: 250 Years Together,” a live celebration of the nation’s 250th anniversary, on Saturday, July 4, 2026.
The two-hour special is produced in partnership with Virginia’s American Revolution 250 Commission (VA250) and features performances by bass-baritone Ryan Speedo Green, Tony Award winner Kelli O’Hara, Tony Award winner Adrienne Warren, Michael Feinstein, and singer-songwriter Judy Collins. Actor Richard Thomas will provide narration, and documentary filmmaker Ken Burns will appear with a special greeting.
The program will include the world premiere of “Through a Window,” performed by Leah Glenn Dance Theatre, the Virginia Chorale, and Green, accompanied by imagery created by 400 synchronized drones. Additional elements include “The Heartbeat of Freedom,” a presentation combining Indigenous, West African, and English Colonial drums; dramatic readings from the Declaration of Independence by performers portraying Thomas Jefferson, Martha Washington, and James Lafayette; and performances by the Colonial Williamsburg Fifes & Drums. The finale will feature a fireworks display accompanied by the United States Air Force Heritage of America Band.
The special will stream simultaneously on PBS.org and the PBS app.
The event is set to kick off place at 8 p.m. with performers appearing at Colonial Williamsburg’s Historic Area in Williamsburg, Virginia.
