Park Avenue Armory and WQXR will broadcast curated programs of lieder, art song, and contemporary works.

Hosted by John Schaefer and airing on WQXR 105.9FM and at www.wqxr.org on Saturday evenings in September and October and subsequently through on-demand streaming, the show will feature behind-the-scenes interviews with celebrated musicians and their intimate performances in the Armory’s historic period rooms.

Here is a look at the 2026 broadcasts:

The first broadcast will be of Pene Pati and Ronny Michael Greenberg’s recital which features works by Gabriel Fauré, Henri Duparc, Lili Boulanger, Roger Quilter, Benjamin Britten, and Richard Strauss.

Sasha Cooke and Myra Huang’s recital titled “Of Thee I Sing” features an artfully curated set of works by Copland, Barber, Ives, Weill, Jake Heggie, Sondheim, and more, as well as the New York premiere of an Armory-commissioned work by American composer Jasmine Barnes.
