The Swedish Opera in Stockholm has been forced to shut down due to a COVID-19 outbreak.

According to a report in Radio Classique, the company is experiencing a cluster of 15 Covid-19 cases across several departments and is being investigated by the Work Environment Agency.

In a statement, Birgitta Svendén, the president of the Swedish institution, said that none of the employees tested positive and the episode of contamination is not considered a cluster because none of the infected had been close to each other.

The company will remain closed for at least a week stopping all rehearsals for upcoming streams. The news comes days after the Teatro Real in Madrid experienced a COVID-19 outbreak with 24 workers infected across departments.

The Royal Swedish Opera is set to reopen to the public on April 28.
